After 5 years, looking at the products in the market, I've finally decided to upgrade the hardware of this old hunk-a-junk. Here are the hardware specs before the upgrade:

Processor: Intel Pentium 4, 2.0Ghz
Memory: Two ddr1 chips - 256mb, 1gb
Hard Drive: 40Gb
ASUS P4V533-MX Motherboard
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200, 128mb 64bit

After I brought it to the shop and upgraded it for around $ 200 translated at the current forex rate, here's the specs, with everything else other than the following remaining the same:

Processor: Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200, 2.5Ghz
Memory: one chip, DDR2 1GB
ASUS P5NSLI Motherboard
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9500GT, 512mb ddr2 128bit

I was on a tight budget, ergo the $ 200 price.


To add, I use the computer for gaming and school-related work. I thought of upgrading it because I found it very slow.
